Try to figure out how to connect- it's fairly straightforward. If your bike has a WIFI module, another WIFI connection will become available, which will be named something like "Yamaha etc". Wake up your bike with a bump of the start button (not necessary to start the engine). Take your smart phone and go to the WIFI page where it shows available networks. So if you see the CCU module, try this-ġ. This number is required to connect via smart phone. If you see a module under the panel, gently remove it and record the serial number. Your bike requires the WIFI tuner which will be located behind the LH rear number panel. But- read on and if you see a CCU module, then you have a high probability that you have the GYTR ECU. I'm not sure how to tell if you have a GYTR ECU module. I bought a Yam Code reader to change my CO slightly and changing the value helped the warm starting somewhat. This device can read error codes and perform a tweak to the idle fuel delivery called "CO value". There is another item called a Yamaha Code reader. If you connect the older Yam Tuner to your bike, the display will read something like- "unable to connect." That tuner is for the older models, and it doesn't work on the newer WIFI capable bikes. This is pretty bizarre that Yamaha would include information regarding the Yamaha Tuner in your 2020 manual. If it does work that would be great because it's substantially cheaper than buying the CCU. Why would Yamaha indicate that it's an optional part for the 2020. I thought the GYTR ECU could only be programmed using the optional CCU with wi-fi? In looking at the GYTR power tuner online it looks like it only works on bikes up to 2018. Second, I have the owners service manual and on page 1-7, it indicated that the GYTR power tuner as an optional part. If anyone has the same gen bike can they look at their ECU and tell me what theirs is? I've included a picture of my ECU. Both the OEM and the GYTR ECU start off with the number "B7R". I took off the tank and looked at the ECU and found that they are individually serialized and that number does not correspond to anything I can find. The previous owner did the free mods and it runs great. I'm trying to find out if it has the GYTR ECU in it. It has been the biggest seat of the pants upgrade I've made.Hey everyone, I've tried to contact Yamaha and the local dealer to answer my questions and no one can so I'm turning to you guys. You might find that if the SxS looks like its been well maintained having the Weller pipes and tune might be nice upgrade to start with. Kyle at Weller did my tune and he did a fantastic job on it. If it has the Weller tune on it, it will be a real boost in HP. Not to mention you wouldn't realize the additional HP boost from going with the new pipes. There is considerably less back pressure thru the Weller pipes and things like burned valves and much higher head temps would be the result without the tune. Needless to say its not a common purchase for most when they buy a pipe.īut, if it has Weller pipes on it then it would have needed a tune to run properly with the new pipes. If I want to tune another its a couple hundred for another license on top of the cost of purchasing an additional tune license for the additional ECU. When I did my pipe the PV3 tuner was an additional $450 and it can only tune my ECU.
